This disorder alone fills one-fifth of all hospital beds in the United States. It is presumably equally prevalent in other parts of the world. Its cost is incalculable. Its onset is commonly in the early years of maturity and it persists to a greater or lesser degree of severity throughout a lifetime that is not greatly curtailed.
