Soluble ladder-like phenylene-bridged polymethylsiloxane and polyvinylsiloxane were synthesized by precoupling, hydrolysis and polycondensation consecutively. They were characterized by infrared, 1H-NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance), 13C-NMR, 29Si-NMR, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction, elementary analysis, viscosity and gel permeation chromatography measurement, etc., and proved to possess a ladder-like molecule structure.
