Polymorphic transformations and multiple melting phenomena of poly(butene‐1) have been studied by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Conversion of form‐III to form‐II follows a crystal‐crystal transformation mechanism and shows a similar feature as observed by other techniques. The effect of various parameters on the nature of DSC traces has been investigated. Equilibrium melting temperatures for different modifications, form‐I, form‐II, and form‐III are found to be 142, 130, and 110°C respectively.
