Needs assessment: Lessons learned

This article reviews three major themes that emerge from the series of articles: the place of needs assessment in the continuum of learning, triangulation of needs assessment methods and data analysis, and subjective versus objective data and self-assessment versus group assessment. The article suggests ways in which the key messages can be incorporated into the practice and research of continuing professional education.
