Molecular structure of stereoisomers of 2,4,6‐trichloroheptane as model compounds of polyvinyl chloride

The correlation between the configuration and conformation of the three‐unit models of polyvinyl chloride, isomers of 2,4,6‐trichloroheptane, is discussed by means of IR, NMR spectra, and dipole moment measurements. On the basis of the information obtained the chain conformation and the tacticity of polyvinyl chloride are also discussed.
