The investigation of the Hall coefficient in Cd x Hg 1− x Te under hydrostatic pressure over the temperature range 77 to 300 K is reported. It is shown that within the experimental error, the energy gap is linear with x in the range 0 < x < 0.2. The pressure coefficient (d E 0 /d p ) T and temperature coefficient (d E 0 /d T ) p have been determined. The temperature coefficient of E 0 has been found to be positive and to decrease with x . From the behaviour of R H = f ( p ) it has been established that the cross over Γ 6 , Γ 8 is continuous.
