An attempt has been made, in the domain of washing, wetting, retarding agents and emulsifiers to produce a system of qualitative analysis which embraces more groups of compounds within this field than has been the case up to the present. To this end various new tests are introduced such as: the Resolin B‐Solidogen BSE test, the KI 3 test, the ammonium cobalt thiocyanate test, the Chlorantinlichtbraun BRLL test, the diazo test, the starch iodine test, alkaline distillation, the heating test and the acid heating test.
