up-to-date information and critical reviews, abstracts of important papers recently published by sister journals, and more streamlined less discursive articles, we could take a bold step forward in reducing the volume of reading material for our long-suffering colleagues. We would hope also to co-operate with other editors in defining the field of interest in our journals and at all times attempt to cater at least as much for the reader as for the author.
