The statistics of the development of ionization currents by the generation mechanism in electronegative gases has been calculated assuming undelayed photon secondary process at the cathode. Some examples of necessary modifications of the statistics in non-attaching gases as calculated by Legler in 1955 and Davidson in 1964 owing to the presence of electron attachment have been shown.
