A mass lesion in the region of the sella turcica, with or wi thout suprasel lar extension, is general ly assumed to be a t u m o r of the adenohypophys i s . However , a t u m o r in this region m a y occasionally arise in the general a rea of the neu rohypophys i s and the hypophysea l stalk. Such a case, d iagnosed histologically as a granular-cell m y o b l a s t o m a , is recorded in th is article. So far only 4 cases of granular-cel l myob las t oma , which have shown the s y m p t o m a t o l o g y associated wi th an intrasellar mass lesion have been descr ibed in t he l i terature. The p resen t case is, we believe, the fifth of this kind.
