Mass-spectrometric techniques have been used to obtain the photoionization-efficiency curves for H2, HD, and D2 in the energy range 815 to 700 Å (15.2 to 17.7 eV). A qualitative description of the observed autoionization process, based on a theory proposed by Fano, is applied to an analysis of the results.
