IMPACTThis article conceptualizes e-governance as a governance infrastructure that enables transparency and accountability in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Focusing on European governments, the authors highlight how digital platforms, open data systems and digitized accountability processes reshape public decision-making, citizen participation and sustainable development governance. This article suggests ways in which governments, public managers, digitalization specialists and international organizations can align digital government reforms with SDGs commitments while preserving democratic accountability and institutional trust.
