We examined immediate-type allergic skin reactions in 113 children with chronic maxillary sinusitis. In 82 children, skin reactions were positive. The profiles of positive antigens (HD 86.6%, Candida 36.6% and Broncasma Berna 26.8%) in children with chronic sinusitis were similar to those in children with simple allergic rhinitis. The group of children with sinusitis and allergy (SA) contained older children than the control group (S: sinusitis without allergy), although the peak age was the same in both groups (5-6 years). oentogenographic examination of maxillary sinuses showed more mucosal hypertrophy in SA patients than in S patients. The frequency of daily sneezing attacks tended to be higher in SA patients than in S patients.
