Power balance measurements have been carried out for helium discharges in the C-Stellarator over a wide range of Ohmic heating currents. The results show that the power input can be satisfactorily accounted for in terms of power dissipated in radiation, ionization, and heating of the helium. Power loss due to impurity radiation is negligible; that due to charge exchange is shown to be insignificant (except possibly at very low currents). Other mechanisms of power loss appear to play no major role in the power balance analysis.
