The experimental results for nucleate boiling of cryogenic and other fluids in vertical tubes show a significant influence of the tube diameter on the heat transfer coefficient. In addition, the wetting behavior of the duct must be known for horizontal tubes with circular and noncircular cross section. This is a complicated function of the cross section shape, the flow parameters, and the conditions of constant heat flux or constant wall temperature.
