A general expression for the torque on an object due to acoustical radiation pressure is derived by an approach similar to that used by P. J. Westervelt to derive the general expression for the force. The general expression is then specialized to plane waves incident in an arbitrary direction. The simplification which is obtainable in the case of disks is also discussed.
