Thermally stimulated depolarization current spectra in poly-blends of polyvinylchloride (PVC)/polyacrylonitrile-butadiene (NBR) films have been investigated. With the aid of a thermal sampling technique, the complex spectra could be resolved into their elementary processes. PVC and NBR were found to be miscible as evidenced by the existence of the compensation law. The dependence of the compensation temperature on the nitrile content confirms that dipole-dipole interaction was the most likely in this system. Hence, we are led to conclude that PVC and NBR are thermodynamically miscible.
