Magnetic properties of textured thin films produced by electrodeposition on substrates exhibiting room-temperature ferromagnetism and a strong perpendicular anisotropy of the saturation magnetization are reported and discussed. Our results indicate that these effects are directly related to the texture and the presence of oxygen vacancies . Magnetization and the anisotropy of magnetization increase for films with higher concentration, which is correlated with the ordering of oxygen vacancy pairs along the ⟨111⟩ crystallographic axes. Our findings are supported by supercell band structure calculations.
