Recent work has demonstrated an association between congenital defects and unusual dermatoglyphic patterns, and has presented the clinician with a need to record his patients’ finger and palm prints. Two printing methods are described, one applicable to children aged up to four years, the other to older children and adults. Both methods are simple, inexpensive and within the scope of those who are not accustomed to undertaking routine dermatoglyphic studies.
