The fabric of life: Fabrics of metal-oxide nanofibers are a new class of high-performance catalytic materials with potential applications in industrial chemistry. By providing excellent dispersion, order, and access to the catalytic sites, La2O3CeO2 fabrics exhibited high performance in the oxidative coupling of methane at significantly lower feed-gas temperatures than analogous powder catalysts.
