Accurate prediction of multipactor threshold is of great importance for the suppressing of passive intermodulation. Multicarrier multipactor, which is a secondary electron emission excited by multicarrier signals, is the main risk to the long-term reliability of microwave components. The prediction of the global threshold power is thus important in the design of microwave components. The traditional prediction of the global threshold power of multicarrier multipactor is based on the 20-gap-crossing rule (20GCR), but it is independent of the time distribution and ignores the influence of different materials of components. This paper proposes a global threshold prediction method of multicarrier multipactor with time distribution and material coefficients, namely the time-material prediction method (P20TM). It accumulates energy that exceeds the traditional threshold, which provides a basis for distinguishing multicarrier signals with different time distributions. The proposed method adopts an improved simulated annealing algorithm realizing the optimization of the multidimensional function. Simulation results show good agreements with theoretic results, which indicate the P20TM can achieve more accurate prediction than the 20GCR.
