Some new observations on equatorial spreadFusing phase path technique

Using a phase path technique, F region vertical motions before the onset of spread F have been investigated. It has been found that fluctuations are present in the vertical velocity with different quasi-periods. Phase path variations corresponding to different virtual heights in the spread F echo patch indicate different and even opposite motions.
