The deoxyribose‐transferring enzyme from Lactobacillus helveticus has been purified to homogeneity with subsequent crystallization under different conditions. The enzyme has a molecular weight of about 82000 as estimated by gel filtration. Kinetic data for the deoxyribosyl transfer between various purine and pyrimidine bases are reported.
