The addition of zinc at 20 mg kg −1 to soils in a growth chamber study reduced the shoot Cd concentration of two durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L. var durum) lines at 10 °C, 16 °C, and 22 °C soil temperatures while additions of ammonium nitrate (NH 4 NO 3 ) and monoammonium phosphate (NH 4 H 2 PO 4 ) increased shoot Cd concentrations. Applying Zn with NH 4 NO 3 or NH 4 H 2 PO 4 reduced shoot Cd concentrations of the plants to levels comparable to the control.
