To the Editor.— Within the last two years, we observed that some patients referred to us for treatment had a history of panic disorder and abnormal results of the dexamethasone suppression test (DST) despite the absence of symptoms of endogenous depression. Based on these clinical observations, we proposed that some patients with primary panic disorder experience the development of nonmelancholic depressive episodes
