The population dynamics of the nematofauna in cultivated lluvisoils in the Spanish Central Region were studied throughout the year and related to the development of the crop. The vertical distribution of nematodes in this soil type was related to the clay content in deep horizons, which affects the moisture characteristics in different levels. Both spatial and temporal changes were observed in the majority of nematode groups, which correlated with the moisture content and host plants present.
