This article presents a detailed stylistic analysis of the first act of Los triunfos de José, a comedy attributed to Pedro Calderón de la Barca in the preserved testimonies. However, historical documentation allowed for the exploration of a collaborative authorship involving Juan de Zabaleta, Luis de Belmonte Bermúdez, and Antonio Martínez de Meneses. The stylistic study confirms the clues previously identified by critics and supports the claim that Juan de Zabaleta wrote the first act of the biblical comedy Los triunfos de José, providing numerous lexical parallels throughout the setup of the play and even suggesting its role as a hypotext of the work by Juan Claudio de la Hoz y Mota titled José, salvador de Egipto y triunfos de la inocencia.
