The south-arm orican leucogranites are progressively deformed in a major dextral hercy-nian shear. The quartz fabric is shown at different stages of the strain history defined by the spatial evolution of the planar structures at microtectonic scale. Non coaxial deformation occurs and progressive rotation of c axis orientations is demonstrated. The influence of heterogeneities on this evolution is briefly discussed.
