One of the functions of governments is the protection of public interest. The performance of this function is one of the criteria used in assessing governments’ credibility. It therefore recommends for an adequate protection of whistle blowers, including training and awareness of whistle blowing so as to adequately protect the whistle blower and sustain public interest.
