There has been renewed interest in both pastoral care and spiritual care in North America and in Europe. It is important to realize that spiritual care is broader than religious care. Spiritual care so jar has received little more than lip service because of this confusion. Spiritual care consists of those elements by which the patient comes to terms with his/her meaning as a person.
