Thermosensitive N ‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm)‐ co ‐( N ‐propylacrylamide (NPAAm)‐ co ‐vinyl pyrrolidone (VP) terpolymers (PNINAVP) were synthesized by conventional free‐radical polymerization. The thermoresponsive behaviour of their solutions was investigated by turbidimetry and dynamic contact angle (DCA) measurements. The sol‐gel transition of the copolymer solutions occurred reversibly within 30 s, in response to the change of temperature. In vitro embolic model experiments indicated that a 5 wt% solution of 16:16:1 PNINAVP had a satisfactory embolization effect.
