The ferromagnetic resonance of thin disks of single crystal hexagonal close packed cobalt was measured at room temperature for various orientations of the external static magnetic field with respect to the crystallographic axes of the crystal. The resonance frequency was 71.52 Gc/s, the values of the external resonance fields were in the interval from 8.9 to 23.5 kOe. From the measurements the constants of magnetocrystalline anisotropy and the value of the spectroscopic splitting factor were computed ( K 1 = 5.22 × 10 6 erg cm -3 , K 2 = 0.91 × 10 6 erg cm -3 , g = 2.18). The resonance linewidth was around 1000 Oe. The results of measurements were compared with anisotropy measurements, performed using the static measurement method, and with measurements of ferromagnetic resonance of other ferromagnetic single crystals.
