In 1959 we published in a local journal the ana- tomical findings of a case of neuromy%litis optica which suggested the possibility of a vascular mechanism in the lesions of that disease (Matera, Tamaroff, Ortiz de Zarate, and Gruzman, 1959). In addition, connections between it and myelomalacia and subacute necrotic myelitis of Foix and Alajoua- nine (1926) were assumed. Recently we had the opportunity of studying another similar case.
