A general description is given of space-charge-limited photo-enhanced currents (PEC) in organic insulators. The model developed is based on the distribution function for the occupation of traps under simultaneous thermal and optical charge detrapping. The theoretical results satisfactorily reproduce all features of the experimental voltage and spectral characteristics of the PEC illustrated on anthracene and tetracene single crystals.
