In recent literature good results of Prussian Blue therapy in thallium poisoning in the rat have been described. In our experiments Prussian Blue in vitro exhibited a far greater adsorptive capacity for thallium than activated charcoal. Prussian Blue therapy significantly lowered thallium concentration in the brain. A definite dose—residual thallium relationship was demonstrated in rats with thallium poisoning treated with Prussian Blue. Three patients with thallotoxicosis were treated with Prussian Blue and showed a favorable clinical response. For the moment Prussian Blue seems to be the therapy of choice in thallotoxicosis.
