Introduction As teacher educators and researchers in the field of teacher-pupil-parent communication we are often asked by the students – How to act? How to perform? What effective methods exist? Those are natural questions when you take into account that the students attend an education that is supposed to lead to special skills. In our field this means such things as being able to lead different meetings with parents as well as meetings with single pupils and parents. Such encounters have many different contents that need to be handled in a professional way. Therefore the teacher must have a complete mastery of different communication skills and methods. Our students’ normative and practical questions can therefore be seen as both well founded and legitimate.
