By the method described in Part I, experimental data have been obtained on cis ‐polybutadiene and natural rubber which further elucidate the dependence of the concentration of elastically effective network chains on the network parameters. The results have been interpreted in terms of the equation proposed in Part I. The dependence of the elastic constant C 2 , defined by the Mooney‐Rivlin equation, upon the network parameters, type of polymer, and presence of diluent has been investigated. The constant C 2 has been related to the network parameters by means of a simple equation on the assumption that the magnitude of the C 2 effect is proportional to the fraction of elastically effective network.
