Direct photocatalytic production of H ₂ O ₂ is demonstrated using a heterogeneous catalyst made from environmentally compatible materials and light energy without the need for additional chemical energy (sacrificial compounds) or applied electrical potential. Fine-tuning of catalyst architecture and interface design enables exceptional photocatalytic activity.
