Introduction: Spirituality, defined as a personal quest for meaning, purpose and connection beyond the material self, plays a critical role in the lives of patients and physicians alike. Medical students, often exposed to high levels of stress, moral dilemmas, and emotional exhaustion, can benefit from spiritual grounding that promotes inner peace, compassion and ethical decision-making. Evidence from Indian medical colleges suggests that daily spiritual experiences are common among students and are associated with greater life satisfaction and better coping strategies. The present study explored the impact of spirituality on medical education from the perspective of medical students. By analyzing attitudes, experiences and perceived benefits of spiritual engagement, our study aimed to contribute empirical evidence to the ongoing discourse and advocate for more holistic, humanistic approaches in the formation of future healthcare professionals. Materials and Methods: A validated Spiritual Assessment Tool with 5-point Likert scale was developed; distributed electronically via Google Forms and responses were collected from medical students. Results: A substantial proportion of medical students perceived spirituality as having a positive influence on their health, stress management, and professional orientation. Specifically, 60.7% of participants agreed that their spiritual practices contributed to maintaining physical health. Additionally, 66.3% believed that spirituality enhanced their academic motivation, while 56.2% reported that it helped them cope effectively with academic stress. Conclusion: Our study highlighted the significant role of spirituality in the lives of medical students, influencing their emotional resilience, academic motivation, and perceived readiness for compassionate patient care.
