Twenty‐three adult patients (median age 22 years) with haematological relapse of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia were given reinduction therapy with vincristine, adriamycin, prednisolone, and L‐asparaginase. Complete remission (CR) was achieved in 16 patients (69%), and only one patient was completely unresponsive to therapy. The duration of second remission was short except in three patients who had experienced long first remissions (> 2.5 years). The median duration of survival from first relapse was seven months.
