An exact solution to the problem of an unsteady MHD free convective flow past an impulsively started vertical plate with Ramped temperature in a porous medium with rotation and heat absorption taken in to account the Hall effect is presented. It is assumed that the entire system rotates with a uniform angular velocity Ω r about the normal to the plate and a uniform transverse magnetic field is applied along the normal to the plate directed in to the fluid region .The magnetic Reynolds number is assumed to be so small that the induced magnetic field can be neglected. The non dimensional equations governing the flow are solved by Laplace transform technique in closed form. The expression for primary and secondary velocity fields, temperature field, and skin frictions at the plate due to the primary and secondary velocity fields and Nusselt number at the plate are obtained for both ramped temperature and isothermal plates. The velocity fields, and skin frictions at the plate are demonstrated graphically and the effect of magnetic parameter (M), Hall parameters (m), on these fields are discussed. Some of our results for m=0 has been compared with the results of Seth et al. (Seth et al.2011) and found in good agreement.
