The rate constant k1 for the reaction O3PJ+ ClO → Cl 2PJ+ O2 has been measured at five temperatures between 220 and 426 K. Atomic resonance fluorescence was used to follow the pseudo-first order decay rate of [O 3PJ] in excess ClO, which was produced by the reaction Cl + O3→ ClO + O2. The following Arrhenius expression for k1(cm3 molecule–1 s–1; 220–426 K; 2σ) is reported: log10k1=(– 9.97 ± 0.12)–(97.2 ± 32.8)/T.
