Nowadays, specialization takes one of most important places in surgery, as a way to structure surgical specialties and to define specialists «zone of responsibility». One of the areas of specialization is the division into anatomical regions or individual human organs. At the same time such an important and anatomy unique area as the neck does not have its own separate section in surgery. Developing a separate specialization for a special anatomical region such as the neck, which is necessary for more constructive training of surgical specialists. An important requirement for operations performed in this anatomical region is cosmeticity, therefore, today, historically used surgical approaches on the neck are subjected to modifications aimed at minimizing them. In recent years, new cosmetic transluminal approaches to the endocrine organs of the neck have also been introduced into practice. Despite the fact that the neck is the «zone of interest» of many areas of surgery, emergency operations on the neck are more often performed by «general» surgeons, who, usually are less prepared for interventions in this anatomical area. Therefore, the number of postoperative complications in surgical interventions for neck injuries has been decreasing quite slowly in recent years. Obviously, it is impossible to educate a surgeon who is equally well prepared for the surgical treatment of the pathology of all organs and anatomical structures of the neck, because the neck is a «zone of interest» for about 13 surgical specialties in total, however, from an applied point of view, there is an urgent need to introduce a certain specialization for this complex topographic and anatomical region. The new surgical specialty can be called «Surgical Cervicology». Novelty of the work. The study of the displacement of the neck fascia with turning the head. Comparative characteristics of minimally invasive cervical approaches and their application in practice. Introduction a new surgical specialty into practice and substantiation of its significance.
