Mammography has been shown to reduce breast cancer mortality significantly among women 50 years of age and older. 1,2 Although mammography rates are increasing, most women still are not getting regular mamtnograms? Reasons for this nonadherence are complex, including the belief that a mammogram is unnecessary in the absence of symptoms, lack of physician recommendation, and access barriers. Multistrategy interventions that acknowledge this complexity have been shown to be most effective. 4
