Hazards from /sup 90/Sr deposited in fallout following nuclear explosions are reviewed. Strontium/sup 90/ is of particular interest among the fission products because of chemical similarity to Ca, an average life of about 40 years, and a low rate of skeletal elimination. The maximum permissible average concentration of /sup 90/Sr in the adult skeleton is calculated to be 1..mu..c/1000 gm of Ca.
