Analyzes moral education's effect on salary and employment choices among graduates, suggesting significant implications for policy.
With the promotion of higher education in China, the number of graduates is constantly increasing. Their employment has become a widespread concern in society. The paper uses questionnaire survey data to construct moral education literacy and empirically analyzes its impact on the employment of graduates. Based on the selected sample, the results show that: Firstly, the improvement of moral education literacy can significantly increase the salary level of college graduates, and this conclusion remains valid after robustness tests. Secondly, the effect of moral education literacy on the salary increase of students from central regions is more significant. Furthermore, the paper found that moral education literacy significantly affects the employment concept of college students by accepting demoted employment, while moral education literacy does not have a significant impact on graduates’ choice of flexible employment. The policy inspiration is that it is imperative to help graduates find employment and enhance their moral education literacy. It should be improved from five aspects: establish a moral education system with full participation, strengthen ideological and political education, strengthen social practice education, establish a scientific and reasonable evaluation system, and strengthen the construction of teaching staff.
