Photoluminescent In‐, Al‐, and Cu‐doped films have been prepared by spray pyrolysis using air as carrier gas at atmospheric pressure onto Pyrex glass slides, Pyrex glass coated with , and silicon oxide substrates. The impurification is achieved by mixing , , and with the starting solution used for the deposition of . All films show polycrystalline characteristics which could be associated primarily to a wurtzite structure of . Also, the presence of chlorine is detected in the films in quantities that depend on the deposition parameters. The photoluminescent spectra at room temperature show different emission peaks for each one of the impurities. The PL spectra from the Al‐doped films show a peak centered at . The In‐doped zinc sulfide films have a peak about and the spectrum from the Cu‐doped film shows a peak at . The shape and intensity of the PL spectra do not depend strongly on the type of substrate.
