All human beings form this society and are its creators, give shape to it and are the reason for its existence. In spite of this, women are still fighting for equal rights in this society till today. It is in this context that Government of India started Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao campaign. Present study is an attempt to understand the effect of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign on society and empowerment of girl child. Data for this has been collected with the help of questionnaire as per the requirement of survey method. Results indicate that BBBP campaign is contributing towards better social empowerment of women. Rights of girl child are now being acknowledged by majority of the society. There is a perceptible shift in outlook of people as regards to gender inequality and there is remarkable decrease in pre-natal gender selection.
