A model for assessing life functioning in families of delinquent or predelinquent boys is presented. The quantification of six major areas of family life functioning has proved to be a valid instrument which can accurately differentiate between type of symptomatology displayed by boys, their ability to profit from therapy, and the differing family perceptions of the usefulness of the therapeutic program.
