Surface cartography: The combination of microcontact printing and local electrochemical surface modification enables a new approach for the creation of complex functional thin films containing several interacting biomolecules within defined regions. Scanning electrochemical microscopy could indicate the local conversion rates for any position within the pattern formed by horseradish peroxidase and glucose oxidase layers (see picture).
